Simply put, a libation is a food or beverage offering made to the gods. In the Odyssey, Homer writes how Odysseus and his men would pour wine on the ground to garner favour with the gods, and perhaps it worked, because he eventually made it home to Ithaca, despite sirens, enslavement by giants, and his men being turned into pigs.
Not to say you need to pour out your Heavenly Libations Shrub before consuming it. You can, however, include it in your next ceremony or special gathering. Try this recipe:
