Heavenly Libations is a small business nestled in the fertile Comox Valley on Vancouver Island. We specialize in refreshing beverages inspired by time-honoured traditional recipes. All our products are hand-crafted in small batches using mostly in season and local fruits, herbs, roots and flowers.

Heavenly Libations – Made from the Fruits of the Earth
At Heavenly Libations we make a few different products, but we started off creating Shrubs. No, not the kind that are green and have leaves, but the tasty kind you can drink! Maybe you haven’t heard of them, but in the days before soda, Shrubs were quite popular. Using fruit, sugar and vinegar, they were a way to quench your thirst while preserving the seasonal bounty of the harvest. To us modern folk, drinking vinegar might seem like an odd thing to do, but it has been added to beverages since ancient times. These drinks are seriously good and your taste buds will thank you for the flavour adventure.
If you’ve tried Shrubs before you may notice ours are a little different than other brands. We don’t cook or pasteurize our Shrubs, and this “raw approach” gives them a distinctive fresh fruit flavour we feel is far nicer on the palate. This does mean our Shrubs need to be refrigerated, but you will find it is worth it.
Recently we have expanded our products to include Probiotic Sodas, made with Water Kefir. These refreshingly light, bubbly drinks are thirst quenching and also good for your tummy! Unlike kombucha, Water Kefir actually has probiotics that we all know are beneficial and important for our health.
We have also started making shelf stable syrups! These are in smaller bottles (5 oz) so are perfect for gifts, or buy a few and see what is your favourite! Unlike the Shrubs and Probiotic Sodas, they do not need to be refrigerated until opened. They can be used the same way as Shrubs, in cocktails, cooking, or just about whatever you can come up with!

Shrubs
Here at Heavenly Libations we like to mix things up… literally! We thrive off of creating new Shrub flavour combinations, but we also try to shop as locally and as seasonally as possible, so flavours are in limited supply (until next harvest season, of course).
Although our flavours may change with the seasons, they will always taste delicious. We have 3 year round flavours, and the rest are seasonal.
